T-MagTM is a new integrated casting technology for magnesium that significantly extends the capability and reduces the cost of permanent mould casting for a wide range of high-performance components.
T-MagTM has been developed through the Light Metals Flagship of CSIRO, Australia's national science agency and one of the largest and most diverse research agencies in the world.
T-MagTM produces castings suitable for high-strength, high-integrity applications; the tooling and running costs involved are low, comparable to permanent mould casting processes for aluminium (see Benefits page for a comparison of T-MagTM with other casting methods).
T-Mag Pty Ltd is a joint venture between CSIRO and four Australian companies -- Alloy Technologies International , FLOTEK, SAGE Automation and Inventure -- to commercialise its innovative magnesium casting technology.
